I’m Back!

Wow, it has been a long time since I’ve been able to post.  I accepted a Storage Architect position with Forsythe in June and I’ve been very busy since with getting familiar with my new customers, learning new technologies and designing solutions.

I’m very happy to be a part of Forsythe for several reasons.  First, Forsythe is an employee owned company so the culture here is very different than a manufacturer.  There is less pressure on making a sale and more focus on building long-term successful partnerships with clients. There are also a lot of very sharp architects who work here and it is great to be a part of such a qualified team.

Finally, this role allows me to be very vendor independent and design solutions that are truly best-of-breed, without being tied to a particular vendor.  This also gives me more freedom in my blog.  No matter how un-biased you want to be in blog, working for a vendor shapes the point-of-view and ultimately limits how neutral you can really be.  The vendor-independence I have at Forsythe allows me to focus on a wider variety of solutions and do so from several un-biased points-of-view.  I’m looking forward to this.
